HMIC/WAO Inspection of Police Authorities
Following an inspection by Her Majesty's Inspectors of Constabularies and the Welsh Audit Office, Gwent Police Authority has been chosen as an example of good practice for the implementation of the Staying Ahead Review.
Staying Ahead is a wide-ranging and ambitious strategic review of policing in Gwent which aims to deliver high-quality services to the public within the resources available.
The HMIC/WAO inspection report acknowledges that the Authority has "performed well" in all areas, particularly in setting strategic direction, scrutinising performance, community engagement and value for money.
