The Police Authority is responsible for investigating complaints against chief officers of Gwent Police ie Chief, Deputy and Assistant Chief Constables.
Complaints against officers up to the rank of Chief Superintendent or Force police staff are not investigated by the Authority.
All complaints are closely monitored by the Authority's Professional Standards Committee.
HOW TO MAKE A COMPLAINT
If you have a complaint against a police officer or a member of the force police staff, please contact, Gwent Police Call Handling Centre (01633 838111) call in to any police station, or contact the Professional Standards Department on 01633 838111.
If your complaint relates to a chief officer (Assistant Chief Constable or above) you should contact the Chief Executive to the Police Authority on 01633 642200 email policeauthority@gwent.pnn.police.uk

WHO WATCHES THE WATCHDOG?
A Standards Committee has been established to ensure that the ethical standards of Members of the Authority are of highest order. Our Members have to abide by a Code of Conduct.
Made up of two Police Authority Members, and three Independent representatives, the Committee meets as and when necessary.

Should the complaint be against the Chief Executive, you should contact the Chairman of the Police Authority.
Members Interests
All Members have to register their financial and other interests together with any gifts or hospitality they may receive. These Registers are available for public inspection by contacting the Chief Executive.
