Gwent Police Authority strives to promote and encourage public participation to inform decisions about local policing, and engagement with our diverse communities is essential if we are to meet their needs and expectations.

We work alongside the Gwent Police force through a Joint Community Engagement Strategy to involve the community in the way that local policing services are delivered.  During the year we meet with a broad cross-section of people at a number of meetings, including PACT (Partners and Communities Together) meetings and public events across Gwent.  In addition, our Police Authority meetings are open to the public, and provide an opportunity for community members to discuss any of the issues presented during that meeting.

As engagement is a two-way process, we also seek to keep you informed of developments following meetings; results of our activities are reported to the Police Authority annually to help inform the production of the next Local Policing Plan, and Local Policing Summaries are published every year to let communities know what we are doing about the issues that concern them.

For information on forthcoming events, please contact the Police Authority on 01633 643001.
