Consultation

Consultation is the means through which people are informed and involved in decision making.  This is achieved by giving them the opportunity to make their views known and by giving them feedback on how the information they share is used.

The service provided by Gwent Police is more effective and efficient if it is tackling the types of problems that cause concern to the community.  This approach remains uppermost in the authority's plans as a means of finding out what our communities would want to see regarding local policing services, and is a means of measuring satisfaction with the service provided.

The joint Community Engagement Strategy sets out how both Gwent Police Authority and Gwent Police will work together to carry out community consultation.

Consultation activities take place throughout the year; please visit our Current Consultations page for more information.
