Gwent Police Authority Budget

Gwent Police Authority is an independent body of local people with responsibility for ensuring that the people of Gwent receive an efficient and effective police service.

It is our role, among other things, to listen to communities, to gauge local opinion, to inform policing priorities, and to hold the Chief Constable to account. We also agree the police budget and set the police element of the Council Tax and make this information publicly available as the Gwent Police Authority Budget 2012/13 (precept) leaflet.
